Acting Up

Just as your voice matters, what you do matters.

You've talked. We've listened. It's time to act.

This summer, the Chicago Community Trust will be giving away more than $150,000 in the amounts of $1,500, $2,500 and $5,000 - to help encourage people to work together and take action for the public good.

Applying is easy as 1-2-3!

Just record a two-minute video outlining your project. Upload your video to YouTube. Then fill out the form below to submit your idea. It's that simple!

Please note: Awards are taxable income for individual applicants

Project Details - Please enter information about your project below

Please note: If you are applying for a $5,000 award, you will need either 501(c)3 IRS designation or a fiscal sponsor in order to claim your prize.

Collaborators - Please provide the names and email addresses of anyone assisting with your project (optional)

Social Media - Please provide your Twitter and Facebook account handles / names (optional)

On the Table - Please provide the host information for the event you attended

Video - Please provide the URL to a short video describing your project

Your video should address all ten questions outlined in the instructions:

  • What is the name of your project?
  • Briefly describe your idea(Projects must reflect your capacity to execute).
  • How did your idea originate from your On the Table conversation?
  • Why is your idea important for the community? (Describe how it strengthens community, increases social cohesion and/or deepens civic engagement.)
  • Who will be part of on this initiative and why? (Identify your partners and what they bring to this project).
  • Where will your program or activity take place?
  • When will your program or activity take place?
  • Who will be served by your project(Describe the population served, total size of your intended audience, neighborhood(s) served, etc.)
  • What makes your project unique? (Consider how this project is innovative or applies a solution in a new way).
  • How will you define success?
